Digital map of Poland at EEC 2025. "The most important thing is artificial intelligence"

During the first day of the 17th European Economic Congress in Katowice, during the debate "Digital Map for Poland", experts regretted that Poland is not actively participating in the "arms race" regarding the use of artificial intelligence .

Although the study conducted by Ipsos for Google shows that 41% of Poles have already used generative AI tools, Maciej Pilipczuk, CEO of Emitel, pointed out that Poland occupies a shameful 24th out of 27 places in terms of the country's digitalization in general. This statement led to a discussion on the use of artificial intelligence in digitalization and cybersecurity processes.

Human capital is the most important factor in building a safe digital Poland

Przemysław Kania, General Director, Cisco Systems Poland, emphasized very clearly that artificial intelligence will change the paradigm of our functioning, whether in government or business solutions.

- It is important that we implement these AI solutions in such a way that they are optimal, he said.

He clarified that in matters of cybersecurity and digitization we will not avoid these solutions, so we must now consider how to use this tool to build a safe digital Poland.

Dariusz Piotrowski, Managing Director, Dell Technologies Polska, compared the implementation of artificial intelligence to another industrial revolution . He emphasized that we must invest - if not in development - then at least in the active use of AI tools in every sector of the Polish economy. And as he emphasized, in this matter, the most important issue is the investment in human capital, which will be able to effectively use these tools in building a digitally secure Poland.

- Today we have a unique opportunity for both the government and the economic zone to use artificial intelligence perfectly, because we have human capital. AI is always algorithms, i.e. human thought and our minds, our algorithmists, mathematicians, of whom we have some of the best in the world, can help us use this technology - he argued.
